Johnnie Walker Gold Label

Another blend from the Johnnie Walker stable and another good one.   The nose on this blend is complex, fruity and quite sweet.   The taste has lots of caramel and chocolate notes and soem cereal, even malt, as well.  It is very complex, rich and rewards patience as it takes time to pull out the subtle flavors and notes.  The finish has some oak but never gets bitter or unbalanced and then some nce smoke (but definately not the heavy handed smokiness of a Johnnie Walker Black) and there is even a reappareance of caramel at the end as well.  Nice.  Not as good as the Blue Label, but way closer to the Blue than the Black Label expression.  Gold Label it is the smooth, rich, city slicker compared to it's unsophisticated, rural and slightly awkward Black Label stable mate.
