Murray McDavid Bladnoch 16 year old

Bladnoch is one of the lowland distilleries and if this independant bottling is anything to go by then it is producing some good spirit.  The nose is fresh, limey and sweet (like a good margarita) with some malt.  The taste is smooth, some malt, biscuit, caramel and vanilla.  There is a spicy tingle to the finish with some fresh wood notes.  Overall... very nice.
