Lagavulin 1995 Distillers Edition

This expression is finished in sweet Pedro Ximenez casks.  The nose has a lot of peat, in fact I couldn't find much else except a hint of fruitiness.  The taste is sweet, very sweet, but smooth.  It has caramel and spices and a little mint.  The sherry dries out the finish, pepper remains and some peat of course.  Right at the end the juicy fruit note from the nose reappeared.  Overall I haven't found my Lagavulin "go to" dram, this isn't it.  I will keep looking though.
