This is another of the "standard expressions" that you can find in almost any well stocked whisky shop or bar (along with Ardbeg 10, The Glenlivet 12 and Macallan 10) that is a classic in every sense. The nose is rich and tangy, for me a blend of sherry and salty seaweed. The taste is complex for a 12 year old, with dark fruits, sweet honey, vanilla and chocolate. The complexity carries through into the finish until the peat smoke takes over. Excellent dram.
