The nose has a great fruity character, cooked fruits, and biscuits. Overall I thought of rhubarb crumble or stewed pears. Lovely and a little unusual. The taste is rich with sherry notes, chocolate and more fruits from the nose. With water it gets sweeter (brown sugar from the rhubarb crumble maybe) and some oak that even gets a little smokey. The finish is peppery, floral, even minty and with dried out spices. Imagine chewing a kitchen spice rack, but a delicious spice rack. I find it a little frustrating that this great whisky is only going to be produced in small (and expensive) batches.
