This expression is part of new 1824 series from Macallan. The nose has lemon and malt, even pastry. The taste is quite light with a grainy note, more lemon peel and some fruitiness. Some sugary sweet candy and a bitter or sour note like a lemon drop candy. Smooths out with water, like a baked lemon meringue pie (without the merignue). The finish has some spice and little oak shows through. Good, but I would never pick this in a blind taste test as a sherry cask matured Macallan.
