The newest member of the "hard to pronounce" whisky club comes from Lewis in the Outer Hebrides. The nose is slightly lemony with cut pineapple, flowers and grass. Very light and almost winey. The taste is quite hot and spicy at first (a young spirit) but then allows some lemon peel, green wood, vanilla and creamy toffee to show through as well. The finish has the same heat and then fades and gets quite dry, leaving more of the green wood and some bitter coffee. Overall the newest member of the "hard to pronounce" club is today also a member of the "hard to get excited about" club. Time will tell.
