Even though this is bottled at 43% the first thing I noticed in the nose was some alcohol then some more familiar Glenmorangie spirit influence; toasted coconut, vanilla and oak. The taste is rich and oaky, silky smooth with nuts, chocolate and coffee. Oak definately leads the dance, the spirit follows. The finish is chewy and mouthwatering, spicy and drying. Water brings out a burnt caramel note, sweetness and some plummy, datey fruity notes. Comparing with some other tasting notes I did not find the citrus note that many others seem to, but it is really good.
