My Handcrafted Opinions on Whiskies, Distilleries and Other Related Stuff

Dalmore Cigar Malt Reserve

This is Dalmore’s second incarnation of the Cigar Malt and certainly meets the criteria of being big and bold enough to penetrate through a mouthful of burnt tobacco particles and vapors and still reach your taste buds. If flavors usually come on 1 – 10 scale they attempt here to turn the dial to 11 and with some success. The nose is very rich, fruity and sweet. All big and bold and which carry into the taste where I get chocolate, bitter fruit peels (tamarind?) sherry spices and more sweetness. The finish has more sherry influence, drying and was that a hint of wood smoke and tobacco right at the end or the power of suggestion playing tricks with me?
